What Details Should Be On Your Jewelry Appraisal?
A Quality Analysis
Each item appraised should receive a fully detailed analysis based on an internationally recognized grading system.
Carat, Cut, Clarity and Color
All gemstones must be described to reflect their carat, clarity, color and cut. Descriptions of colored gemstones should also include hue, tone and saturation of color.
Identification of All Stones
The shape, dimensions and approximate weight will help to identify the gemstones in your jewelry.
Precious Metals
Descriptions of all metals should reflect their stampings, workmanship, design and weight.
For The Record
The appraisal certificate should include the date as well as the appraiser's signature and qualifications. The estimated retail replacement value must be clearly stated on the certificate.
